The Charming Chinese Challenge, also known as Chinese Coin Through Ribbon routine, has inspired countless excellent versions over the years. In Jimmy's Challenge, Jimmy Fan offers his own elegant, highly visual interpretation, performed entirely through sleight of hand. Three Chinese coins are threaded onto an ordinary ribbon, then penetrate it one by one, completely uncovered. The routine is exceptionally clean, creating an effect that looks almost like a special effect. It requires only three ordinary Chinese coins and an ordinary ribbon.

The 16-minute tutorial explains all three coin-through-ribbon penetrations in detail. Every phase is performed without cover, and an understanding of the methods reveals just how elegantly the routine is constructed.

Jimmy's Challenge follows naturally from any coin routine that ends with three Chinese coins. Threading the ribbon through the coins demonstrates their ordinary nature while giving you a natural opportunity to palm or ditch a coin as you reach for the ribbon. The routine pairs especially well with Chinese 3 Fly. The tutorial begins with a seamless transition from the ending position of Chinese 3 Fly to the opening position of Jimmy's Challenge, allowing the two routines to flow together as one.

Finally, let’s enjoy the original creator Jimmy Fan’s brilliant performance of this routine.
